The Banning Correctional Facility, also known as the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility is a jail located in the Riverside County (California) community of Banning. It is one of five correctional facilities in Riverside County, and is managed by the Riverside Sheriff’s office. This is the department’s largest jail facility, and holds inmates as they wait for arraignment, trials, hearings, and sentencing. It also housed inmates who are serving their county jail sentences. In addition to incarceration programs, the jail also houses several other county corrections initiatives, including its supervised electronic confinement program, a work release program, substance abuse treatment program, and an inmate-training program. The jail is also home to an inmate-staffed commercial printing shop, and warehouse and laundry services.
If a relative, friend, or other loved one is in the Banning Correctional Facility, it may be possible to arranged for their release by taking advantage of the services of a bail bond company. A bail bond company can assist in securing the amount of money (bail) needed for their release, in exchange for a fee, which is generally 10 to 15% of the cost of the bail set by the judge in court. However, it is important to note that bail charges are subject to the decisions of individual courts and judges, and can vary widely depending on the nature of the crime. Within the state of California, all bail bond companies are regulated by the Insurance Department of California, and must follow rules and guidelines set forth by that agency.
